About the event

Disaster Animal Response Teams (DART) - Tennessee Department of Agriculture

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture's Disaster Animal Response Teams (DART) offer a foundational 4-hour classroom training designed to prepare individuals for effective participation in animal disaster response efforts. This training is open to a diverse range of participants, including veterinarians, veterinary technicians, extension personnel, animal control officers, livestock producers, and volunteers with an interest in animal welfare during emergencies.

Upon completion of the classroom training, participants are designated as Registered Volunteers. These individuals are encouraged to further their qualifications by completing additional Incident Command System (ICS) courses to become Credentialed Responders, thereby enhancing their ability to contribute to disaster response efforts. The ICS courses include IS-100.b, IS-200.b, IS-700.a, and IS-800.b, with additional recommended modules such as IS-10, IS-11, IS-111, and IS-811. These courses are available online through the FEMA Independent Study Program
