The TFACA hands-on forcible entry training trailer teaches firefighters a variety of essential skills and techniques, including:
Tools and Techniques: Firefighters learn to use a wide array of tools like the Halligan bar, flathead axe, sledgehammers, hydraulic tools, saws, and other prying and cutting instruments to overcome different types of obstacles.
Door & Lock Manipulation: The training covers how to force entry through various types of doors, including inward and outward swinging doors, fortified doors with multiple locks or drop bars, garage doors, and even commercial doors. It includes methods like conventional forcible entry (using irons), through-the-lock techniques, and breaching walls if necessary.
Window and Gate Breaching: Firefighters learn how to quickly and safely breach different types of windows (double-hung, casement, tempered glass) and various gates or security barriers they might encounter.
Size-Up and Assessment: Students are taught how to quickly assess the situation at an entry point, considering factors…
