About the event
This 4‐hour training incorporates the “Above the Line/Below the Line” size‐up system to train those arriving first on scene,if they can a safely enter the HotZone. While not a certification course, First Responder Offensive covers basic chemical physical properties, and the Stay Alive Five equipment (SAFe) Kit (radiation pager, F and pH papers, temperature gun and LEL meter) to determine whether the responder can safely continue with recon or perform a rescue (Go/Get‐Out).
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Provide training on transportation containers,for both highway and railway.
Train First Responders on the HazMatIQ FROSmart Charts
Provide training on the Stay Alive Five equipment (meters and reagent papers) thatare required to incorporate this life saving system.
Equips and trains your responders to use theNIOSH Pocket Guide.
Currently First Responders are trained only on the DOT Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG) thatprovides only limited information needed to make a “Go or No Go” decision.
