HazMatIQ FRO

This 4‐hour training incorporates the “Above the Line/Below the Line” size‐up system to train those arriving first  on scene,if they can a safely enter the HotZone. While not a certification course, First Responder Offensive covers  basic chemical physical properties, and the Stay Alive Five equipment (SAFe) Kit (radiation pager, F and pH papers,  temperature gun and LEL meter) to determine whether the responder can safely continue with recon or perform a  rescue (Go/Get‐Out).  

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  Provide training on transportation containers,for both highway and  railway. 

 Train First Responders on the HazMatIQ FROSmart Charts 

 Provide training on the Stay Alive Five equipment (meters and reagent  papers) thatare required to incorporate this life saving system. 

 Equips and trains your responders to use theNIOSH Pocket Guide. 

Currently First Responders are trained only on the DOT Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG) thatprovides only limited information  needed to make a “Go or No Go” decision.
