MUST HAVE FINISHED FF050, HMO, FF100 and EMR. This course is this designed to instruct the student in the maintenance and operation of engine apparatus.Upon completion of this course, the student shall demonstrate an understanding of: the factors involved in selecting a driver/operator, the different types of apparatus equipped with a fire pump, the components of apparatus maintenance and inspection program, how a fire pump works mechanically, the different types of water supplies, and the different aspects of operating with them utilizing different types of water supply during pumping operations, perform theoretical pressure calculations pertaining to fire service nozzles and fire hose, understand the need for pressure relief devices and how they operate and work pressure calculations in fire hose using the fire ground hydraulic method.The course also covers the fundamentals of strategies and tactics for utilizing apparatus on emergency scenes and provides the student with the ability to understand what to inspect and test. The course meets the NFPA 1002: Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications
