Pump Apparatus Driver/Operator

PADO 2026-01 is designed to prepare students for Tennessee Firefighting Commission Pump Apparatus Driver/Operator testing while building the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to safely operate fire apparatus and fire pumps during emergency operations.

Prerequisite: Students must have completed FF050, HMO, FF100, and EMR prior to attending this course.

This course includes classroom instruction, pump operations, water supply concepts, pump math, fire hose and appliances, apparatus checks and maintenance, emergency vehicle operations, fireground pumping, drafting, relay pumping, water shuttle operations, foam operations, and multiple hands-on skills nights.

Students will practice driver/operator skills through a combination of classroom review, practical skill stations, EVOC driving, pump panel operations, rural water supply evolutions, and final skill preparation. The course is designed to move students from basic knowledge into hands-on application and repetition in preparation for TNFFC written testing and real-world apparatus operations.
