Firefighter II / Vehicle Extrication
WCFTC 200 2026-01 Hybrid — Firefighter II / Vehicle Extrication is designed to prepare students for Tennessee Firefighting Commission Firefighter II written and practical testing while also developing operational skills in vehicle extrication.
This hybrid course includes classroom instruction, online/hybrid assignments, Firefighter II skill stations, and hands-on practical training. Students will review and practice Firefighter II job performance requirements related to fire alarms, hose testing, fire reporting, pre-incident planning, fire and life safety initiatives, station tours, home fire safety surveys, support of technical rescue operations, fire investigation, and vehicle extrication.
A major focus of this course is vehicle extrication operations. Students will participate in multiple hands-on extrication training nights covering scene safety, stabilization, tool selection, glass management, access and disentanglement techniques, patient protection, and coordinated team operations.
